Westminster Delegation at TSU
A delegation from the University of Westminster will visit the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU)
at 12 noon on July 26. Professor
Jane Lewis, Dean of the School of Life Sciences at the University of Westminster, will hand over a certificate of merit to Acting Rector Aleksandre Kvitashvili.
“Times Higher Education Awards” are one of the most prestigious awards granted to British higher educational institutions annually for their achievements in various fields. In 2012 the University of Westminster won the Times Higher Education (THE) International Collaboration of the Year award for the development of the e-learning and distance learning courses and assessment in biomedical sciences in the South Caucasus. The universities of Italy, France, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan participated in the project (Coordinator – Professor Nino Porakishvili).
TSU, which was the South Caucasus regional center, has largely contributed to the success of the project (Regional Coordinator Nina Kulikova). In this connection, the delegation from the University of Westminster will hand over the certificate of merit to TSU and hold talks with Georgian counterparts on the strategic directions of future cooperation.
