Constituent Assembly – 100
Winners of the first stage of student essay contest “Constituent Assembly - 100” will be revealed at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University on
March 7 at 11 am. Rector of TSU, George Sharvashidze will award two students winning the first stage of the contest. An exhibition of caricatures created by Georgian painters depicting the members of the Constituent Assembly will be held on the sideline of the awards ceremony.
At 12 noon, the Maro Makashvili Reading Room at the TSU Library will host a student academic conference, where students from various universities will participate.
On March 12, 2019, Georgian parliamentary system marks its 100th anniversary. Just 100 years ago, on March 12, 1919, the Constituent Assembly elected through democratic elections held its inaugural session. In connection with this date, the Parliament of Georgia will be holding student essay contest “Constituent Assembly – 100.” The first stage of the contest will be held at TSU (along with the student academic conference). Students winning the first stage will participate in the final stage on behalf of the university.
