The university of Cumbria is a major provider of higher education in the North West of England, which opened its doors to first, new students in 2007 after a number of successful higher education institutions formed the newest university. Faculty of Health and Wellbeing;

The faculty of health and Wellbeing provides professional training and academic courses for a wide range of health professions, sport science, social work, youth and community work. The faculty is a partner, with Lancaster University, in the design and delivery of medical training at the Lancaster Medical School.
