Michael Kogeler, COO and CMO for Microsoft Middle-East and Africa, delivered a Lecture Workshop for TSU students on December 8.
Michael Kogeler said that education is one of the priorities for the Microsoft team because just education is the future of the country. He also said that Microsoft aims to assist Georgian students in acquiring new technologies and implementing future plans.
During the event Michael Kogeler spoke about Microsoft’s vision, modern business challenges, how technology helps people and organizations to achieve more. He also spoke about his own experience and success formula, and focused on a number of issues, including on Microsoft’s skill requirements for hiring new employees; what type of business relations the company has with commercial firms; what particular educational programs it offers to students; how it helps educational institutions and commercial or governmental organizations to raise the efficiency of their business processes through technologies, etc.
Shalva Gogidze, the first-year student at the TSU Faculty of Economic and Business, said: “It was a very interesting presentation for students and not only for us. The representatives of other organizations also attended the presentation. The meeting was interactive and students had an opportunity to ask questions to Michael Kogeler. He mostly spoke about the Microsoft’s past, its achievements, products offered by the company to the world; he also focused on the future ideas, plans and aspirations.”
Since July 1, 2015, Michael Kogeler is General Manager of the CEE Multicountry region at Microsoft. In that role, he oversees and drives the company’s operations in 24 of some of the fastest growing countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
Prior to that, Michael Kogeler was General Manager, Marketing & Operations (M&O) for Microsoft in the Middle-East and Africa region (MEA), where during four years he was responsible for executing Microsoft’s global strategies across the local MEA countries, ensuring a positive experience for customers, partners and consumers. During his 12 years tenure at Microsoft, Michael Kogeler held various senior leadership roles and drove the company’s strategy, marketing and operations, both internationally, and on a local and regional level.
