Regional conference on Development of Human Resources in Local Self-Government was opened at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University on November 3.
The conference was organized by the TSU Institute of Administrative Sciences with the support of German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation (GIZ).
“Development of human resources is very important, because it will open up new perspectives for self-governments in terms of increasing qualification of their personnel. The today’s conference will promote the development of personnel employed by local self-governments and help the municipalities to coordinate and ensure quality of human resources,” TSU Professor Irakli Kobakhidze said.
“As you know, Georgia is implementing a lot of local self-government reforms and just therefore, this two-day conference will be really important. Since this is a regional conference, we have participants from Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia, who will address the conference on the development of human resources and share their own experience in implementing reforms and new strategies in this field,” a representative from German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation (GIZ) said.
German experts, Armenian and Azerbaijani guests, representatives of academic circles from TSU and other Georgian universities, as well as members of several regional self-governments attended the conference.
