Pavle Tsotskolauri (BA program) and Giorgi Kapanadze (MA program), students of the TSU Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences, the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, were awarded the Best Young Speaker diplomas at the International Seminar/Workshop on Direct and Inverse Problems of Electromagnetic and Acoustic Wave Theory 2017 (DIPED 2017).
The Seminar/Workshop is organized by both the IEEE MTT/ED/AP/CPMT/SSC West Ukraine Chapter and MTT/ED/AP Georgian Chapter and it is held annually. This year the seminar was held at the Dnipropetrovsk National University, Dnipro, Ukraine, which is famous for its engineering projects in cosmonautics.
TSU students’ papers were built on the concept of the project financed by TSU in 2017 within the framework of the program on supporting student research projects. The student project envisaged the creation of observation network over the Caucasus tectonic plate collision as well as the unification of students from Georgia and neighboring countries around this problem. In frames of expedition, the first measurements were carried out in Akhaldaba, Abastumani and Akhalkalaki. Electronic equipment of observation network will be produced at TSU.
