TSU Strategic Development Plan (2017-2021)

The Academic Council of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) has approved the TSU Strategic Development Plan for 2017-2021. The document was developed by a working group set up upon the initiative of Rector Giorgi Sharvashidze. The group working on the TSU Strategic Development Plan included TSU professors, administrative staff, students and public representatives.  Public discussions on the Strategic Development Plan were held with active involvement of all stakeholders.  “It is an unprecedented case, when the document on long-term development of the university was prepared through the consensus. It will be a guarantee of stable development and autonomy.  Everyone will know which way to go and what goal to achieve from 2017 to 2021,” Giorgi Sharvashidze said at a news briefing.

The document represents a four-year plan. The working group worked for three months over a number of issues, among them the university’s management, infrastructure development, student life and student services, scientific and research activities, educational activities, performance quality assessment, public relations, etc.

The Academic Council approved the TSU Strategic Development Plan in its final form on December 19 and its implementation will start from 2017.
