Presentation of Turkish Language Textbook at TSU

A presentation of a Turkish language textbook was held at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The authors of the textbook are Teona Apkhazava and Elisabed Bzhalava.

TSU Professor Elisabed Bzhalava said that “a lot of valuable textbooks have been created by Georgian Turkologists so far, but they fail to meet modern standards and requirements. In particular, according to the recommendation of the Language Council, the language is taught according to the competences, including writing, reading and speaking. Previous textbooks met only one of the components. The new textbook contains all the four components: book, exercise book, vocabulary and CD; it is equivalent to A2 level and meets all the above mentioned competences. So, it helps a student to develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.”

The textbook is designed for the students of Georgian higher educational institutions. However, any person wiling to study the Turkish language can use it. It should be noted that this is the first attempt to create such textbook.
