Vladimer Papava met with Turkish Ambassador to Georgia,
Levent Murat Burhan at the Tbilisi State University’s Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center on
October 23. The meeting was dedicated to the end of the Turkish Ambassador’s diplomatic mission in Georgia.
TSU Rector Vladimer Papava said: “The Turkish Ambassador was actively supporting us in the effective activities of the Yunus Emre Center. Owing to him, a lot of students have expressed desire to learn the Turkish language and many exchange programs have been implemented between TSU and Turkish universities. Although Levent Murat Burhan has completed his diplomatic mission in Georgia, we still pin hopes on his support. I hope that we will still welcome him to the university as a guest.”
“I have attended lots of events held at the Tbilisi State University. It was a great pleasure to have relations with the university. I definitely support the strengthening of the Yunus Emre Center. It is important that this center promotes further rapprochement between the two nations,” Turkish Ambassador Levent Murat Burhan.
Baris Demir, the director of TSU Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center, thanked Levent Murat Burhan for his assistance to the center. Dean of the TSU Faculty of Humanities, Darejan Tvaltvadze, also gave a speech of gratitude. By the end of the meeting the participants of the event visited the Turkology Hall.
