Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) hosted a diploma award ceremony of the International School of Economics (ISET) at TSU on July 1. Rector of TSU, Giorgi Sharvashidze, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Alexander Tevzadze, BP General Manager in Georgia, Chris Schlueter, World Bank’s Regional Director for the South Caucasus, Mercy Tembon, and late Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania’s wife, Nino Zhvania attended the event.
NBA champion, Zaza Pachulia congratulated ISET graduates on completion of their studies, shared his own experience with them and spoke about the path of success. “It is a great honor for me to be invited to celebrate this important day and let me share this success with you,” Pachulia said addressing the graduates.
“I would like to wish you all success in your future endeavors and I hope that you will continue to be members of ISET family and bigger members of Tbilisi State University family. ISET is a wonderful school and a well-known economic school in Georgia and in a bigger region,” Rector Giorgi Sharvashidze said.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Alexander Tevzadze said that ISET implements successful international educational programs of TSU, where excellent students are undergoing their studies. He wished graduates success, noting that “they are going through an important stage of life, when they have to move from studies to career.”
In 2018, 39 students of ISET from Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Japan were awarded master’s degrees. Over the past 10 years, ISET brought up many generations of economists.
