Konrad-AdenauerStiftung Awards Scholarships to 10 Studentsof English-language Masters in European Studies Program

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung has awarded scholarships to 10 students of English-language Masters in European Studies program of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The studies for two semesters, as well as accommodation fees will be fully financed for five Georgian and five foreign students from the Eastern Partnership region. 

Continuation of scholarship in the next two semesters will depend on students’ academicperformance.

TheKonrad-Adenauer-Stiftungselected scholarship holders among the top-ranked students enrolled at Masters in European Studies program in 2020 through competition. Irina Lashkhi and Jonathan Nowak of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, as well as Nino Lapiashvili, director of TSU Institute for European Studies were members of the selection commission. 

Scholarships were awarded to the following students: Ilia Nozadze (Georgia); MegiJalagonia (Georgia); EkaterineZaridze (Georgia); Kristine Macharadze (Georgia); Davit Khimshiashvili (Georgia); Elizaveta Kochekova (Ukraine); GrigoryGuzun (Moldova); EldarHamzal (Azerbaijan); Rita Keshinyan (Armenia) and Lilit Khachatryan (Armenia). 

The Institute for European Studies (IES) was established at Tbilisi State University with the financial support of the European Union in 2007. It implementsEnglish-language interdisciplinary master’s and PhD programs in European studies, as well as regional interdisciplinary program in human rights and democratization. In 2020, the Institute became the winner of EU’s Jean Monnet Project.
