International Conference “8th Beam Telescopes and Test Beams Workshop 2020”

The International Conference “8th Beam Telescopes and Test Beams Workshop 2020” will be held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) from 27 of January up to 31-th of January. High Energy Physics Institute of TSU will host the conference. International Conference “8th Beam Telescopes and Test Beams Workshop 2020” from 2012 usually takes place every year. Beam Telescopes and Test Beams Workshop management team decided that Tbilisi will host the conference in the January 2020, where will be discussed all the issues and plans that are relevant to test beam facilities and infrastructures, test beam experiments, beam telescopes. This will let young scientist from Georgia get involved in the live process of researches at the word-wide particles accelerator centers.
“8th Beam Telescopes and Test Beams Workshop 2020” will gather more than 70 physicists from the United States of America and various countries of Europe and Asia (France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, Greece, Czech Republic, China, South Korea and etc) and will cover a wide range of topics related to test beams for detector studies in tracking detectors, calorimetry and beyond. The duration of the conference is 5 working day – from 27 of January 13:30 up to 31-th of January, 2020.
The conference will feature reports from experienced scientists showing the status of test beam facilities that are operated in the world-wide particles accelerator centers, the results from recent test beam studies and also tutorials to teach the software required to analyze the results will be carried out. The test-beam experiments have been very good educational programs for students. In the test-beam experiments students can work on designing, construction, set-up, data-taking, analysis, and publication of the results, with actual work on all sub-detectors.
Famous scientists will take part in the conference.  Particularly, the following key physicists, the leading  experts in the fields of test beam telescopes, test beam facilities and infrastructures, test beam experiments performance and data analysis and as well as the organizers of the previous Beam Telescopes and Test Beams Workshops in 2012-2019 and also the current workshop, will participate: Hendrik  Jansen (DESY, Hamburg, Germany), Marisol Robles (MainZ, Germany), Simon Spannagel (CERN, Geneva, Switzerland), Henric Wilkens (CERN, Geneva, Switzerland).
The conference will contribute to the attraction of young physicists in high energy physics. The latter is the direction of fundamental physics that special stimulates intellectual development of the country. Hosting this conference will help us strengthen relationship with the scientists from USA and various countries of Europe and Asia, including the physicists from CERN and DESY, that will open up new possibilities for the involvement of current and future physicists, and not only physicists (engineers, IT specialists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists).
