Center of International Criminal Law and
International Cooperation in Criminal Matters at TSU International Law
Institute will host academic conference commemorating the International
Day to Honour Holocaust Victims
on 27 January, 2018.
The conference takes place as a part of the
educational programme that the UN Member States are urged to develop to
instill the memory of the tragedy in future generations to prevent
genocide from occurring again.
TSU International Law Institute within its
International Criminal Law dimension leads teaching and research on a
variety of international criminal law practical aspects, including
condemning without reserve all manifestations of religious intolerance,
incitement, harassment or violence against persons or communities based
on ethnic origin or religious belief, whenever they occur.
The 27 January 2018 conference responds to the UN General Assembly
resolution to mobilize civil society for Holocaust remembrance and
education, to help prevent future acts of genocide.
The theme of conference at TSU, celebrating its 100th Anniversary, is
Holocaust and Genocide Studies in the loop of Human Rights. The
conference will provide an academic forum to present research projects
and contribute to public discourse.
