A number of working meetings were held in the course of events marking the 100th anniversary of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Several important decisions were made as a result of negotiations between TSU and representatives of various foreign universities, international organizations and research institutions.
“TSU will become a hub for several new projects. The representation of the European Academy will be opened at TSU and it will cover the entire region. In addition, the American Chemical Society will be founded at TSU. It is the top level accreditation agency that will grant the U.S.-standard accreditation to those universities that offer chemistry programs,” Rector Giorgi Sharvashidze said. He also noted that “the first stage of anniversary events marking TSU’s 100th anniversary proved successful. But the anniversary events will further continue. A lot of important and interesting events will be held in the future. I hope that a lot of guests will visit Georgia in September, when TSU will be hosting the Tbilisi Science Festival. Georgian and foreign guests will discuss technologies, innovations and TSU’s role in the development of this direction.”
