TSU Hosts Interactive Meeting to Mark Diplomat’s Day

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) hosted the Georgian Foreign Ministry’s interactive meeting One Day with a Georgian Diplomat to mark Diplomat’s Day. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mikheil Janelidze acquainted the invited guests and students with the country’s foreign policy course and the priorities of the ministry’s performance.
 
The corners of the Foreign Ministry’s departments were arranged in frames of the event, where the guests had an opportunity to get information about interesting issues.
 
Deputy Rector of the Tbilisi State University, Mikheil Chkhenkeli congratulated the participants on the Day of Georgian Diplomacy. He said that it is symbolic that this day is marked at TSU, because just the university educates future diplomats.
 
International Relations, as an independent specialization, was introduced at TSU in 1991. The newly created department was led by Alexander Rondeli.
 
Georgian diplomats, students, professors, experts and media representatives participated in the event. The Day of Georgian Diplomacy is marked on November 3. The date is linked to the birthday of Georgian public figure, Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani.
