On February 29, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) hosted a public lecture “Novel Coronavirus Infection, Main Symptoms and Prevention Measures” by Prof. Tengiz Tsertsvadze, head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Immunology of the TSU Faculty of Medicine, director of Georgian AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center. Vice Rector of TSU, Nino Okribelashvili, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dimitri Kordzaia, field representatives, academics and students attended the lecture.
“This lecture serves an educational purpose. Public interest towards the infection is high and we are doing our utmost to share our experience. Moreover, a series of trainings will be held, and all doctors will be trained,” Tengiz Tsertsvadze said.
“Information should be as much relevant as possible in order to prevent rumors and panic in the public. This epidemic definitely has its threats, but it is possible to counter them adequately,” Dimitri Kordzaia said.
The lecture was held upon initiative of Student Scientific Society after Academician Pridon Todua at the TSU Faculty of Medicine.
