TSU, TBC Bank Sign Memorandum of Cooperation

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) and TBC Bank signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on June 29. The Memorandum was signed by TSU Rector Giorgi Sharvashidze and CEO of TBC Bank, Vakhtang Butskhrikidze.

TBC Bank and Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University will launch cooperation in educational and social projects. “This type of cooperation is very important for the university. It is kind of corporate social responsibility approach. The question is about the projects of the future – use of electronic databases in learning process, taking care of the Georgian language, various internship programs, the university’s online store, etc. All these projects are innovative. We welcome such cooperation and offer this model of cooperation to other interested persons as well,” Rector Sharvashidze said.

CEO of TBC Bank, Vakhtang Butskhrikidze said that the Memorandum with TSU is important for TBC Bank. “It is not a standard agreement. We focused on technology products and novelties that is a necessary requirement in the 21st century.”

The Memorandum aims at developing and implementing joint educational projects, among them the Georgian language development in frames of “Write in Georgian” project; simple and constant access to thousands of online books at Saba online book house; special educational trainings and employment programs for students; creation of a special online brand shop for the university; organizing and holding various activities with the participation of students; implementing joint social projects oriented to new generation.

“Cooperation between the Tbilisi State University and TBC Bank is very important. Our goal is to create special bank products tailored to student needs. By this, we will create a good foundation for the cooperation between a higher educational institution and private structures,” Deputy Chairman of TBC Bank’s Supervisory Board, Badri Japaridze said. 

TBC Bank and TSU have shared values. The both institutions prioritize on supporting young people, thus making an important contribution to the country’s development. Moreover, the both sides care for the development of Georgian language that will be achieved through joint projects.

Besides the issues envisaged by the Memorandum, TBC Bank will share its experience in marketing communications and branding. It is also planned to create bank products tailored to the needs and requirements of young people.
