PhD students from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) are still leading in the state grant competition announced by Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation to render financial support to PhD students. A total of 56 winning projects were revealed in 2019 with 29 projects (more than one half of winning projects) presented by PhD students from TSU.
The purpose of the competition is to identify talented young researchers and to promote the compliance of their doctoral research with modern international standards; to provide proper environment for scientific research; to promote collaboration between PhD students and foreign higher educational and research institutions that will, in turn, help raise the quality of higher education in Georgia.
