Ermile Burchuladze

From September 1953 to September 1954, E. Burchuladze served as the Rector of Tbilisi State University.
Ermile Burchuladze was born in the village Sameba, Chokhatauri district on October 4, 1901.  In 1934, E. Burchuladze graduated from Tbilisi State University and continued his postgraduate studies in the same university.
From 1934, E. Burchuladze served as a senior Scientist-researcher at the Institute of Marxism-Leninism affiliated to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.  He was as the Dean of the faculty of History at Gori Pedagogical University (1935-1937), the People’s Commissar for Education of Georgian SSR (1937-1938), the Director of the Pushkin Pedagogical Institute,  and the head of the faculty of Marxism-Leninism (1939-1947).   Ilia Vekua served as the Vice-rector of the Tbilisi State University (1944-1947) and as the head of the faculty of Advanced Mathematics at TSU (1947-1951).    In 1954-1957, Burchuladze served as a Professor and Lecturer of the Party School affiliated to the Georgian Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
From 1957 he was professor of the faculty of History at the Georgian Polytechnic Institute and professor of the faculty of Scientific Communism (1968-1970).  Ermile Burchuladze published essays on the issues of Scientific Communism. He is awarded the Order of the Badge of Honors and various medals. Ermile Burchuladze passed away in 1970.
