The scope of the activities, functions and objectives of the Legal Department shall include:
a) Preparation of agreements to be drafted by the university and its structural units, within the scope of its competence; participation in drafting of administrative acts and facilitating their filing in accordance with applicable statutory procedures;
b) Providing legal support of administrative units of the university;
c) Advising university administrators about the legal issues concerning their proposals as well as proposals submitted by other organizations and administrative units;
d) Supervising and organizing the Legal Department internal affairs along with promoting the Legal Department’s interaction with other administrative units of the university;
e) Ensuring the compliance of the university’s administrative acts with regulations of higher-ranking governmental agencies;
f) Preparing of proposals regarding the university’s management and day-to-day activities in line with existing legislation;
g) Representing and defending the university’s interests before the state and private institutions and courts;
h) Participating in the review of proposals submitted by individuals and/or legal entities within the scope of its legal framework.
i) Ensuring the public is informed about university activities.
To meet its duties and responsibilities the department has the authority to:
a) Draft administrative acts and prepare proposed amendments for administrative directives;
b) Prepare legal reports on proposed administrative directives submitted by other external bodies as well as proposals prepared by the university’s administrative units;
c) Prepare legal statements, which confirm the compatibility of proposed administrative directives, submitted by external bodies, with existing legal requirements.
