Autumn Lectures – 2017
On June 5 at 1:30pm, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) will host an opening ceremony for the event related to QUALI Start-Up lectures. Rector of TSU, Giorgi Sharvashidze; Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Aleksandre Jejelava; the representative of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation; delegation of Jülich Research Center; directors of the Institute for Nuclear Physics (IKP), Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine (INM), Institute of Energy and Climate Research (IEK) and Institute for Engineering and Technology (ZEA), Hans Stroeher, Bernd Neumaier, Andreas Wahner and Ghaleb Natour, respectively, as well as students and professors will attend the event.
A Memorandum of Cooperation will be signed during the event aimed at opening a new laboratory SMART|Atmo at the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences. Similar laboratory SMART|EDM_Lab is already functioning at TSU. Such labs should create the precedents for the return of successful young scientists, who are currently working abroad, to Georgia. A significant part of the research ongoing in similar labs of the Jülich institutes will be carried out at the labs equipped with modern technologies. Students will actively get involved in the projects.
