Meeting on the issues of obtaining residence permits and residing legally in Georgia

On 02 June 2016, at 5pm Innovations and Reforms Center will hold a meeting in the room 101, Building first of the Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University with the foreign students or/and other interested persons on the issues of obtaining residence permits and residing legally in Georgia.

Innovations and Reforms Center is a non-governmental organization working on various issues, including improvement of the migration management and support to the legal migration. Currently, with the financial support of the EU, the Center is implementing the project “Giving practical meaning to the concept of migration and development in the Georgian context”. In the framework of the given Project, the legal aid center has been operating in the IRC since September, 2015. The scope of the Project activities covers legal issues related to migration.

Besides other key directions, the Center is focused on providing the foreign students in Georgia with legal aid/consultancy on obtaining residence permits and residing legally in Georgia.

One of the main directions of the activities of the Center is the provision of Legal consultancy to foreigners on the following topics:

• Obtaining Georgian citizenship (ID, passport);
• Establishing the status of stateless person in Georgia (residence permit);
• Assigning relevant type of residence permit in Georgia (residence permit);
• Obtaining asylum/refugee status in Georgia;
• Legal consultancy-documentation to the victims of domestic violence.

The Center is non-commercial and its activities are funded by the EU and UNHCR, therefore services/consultancy provided by the Center are free.
