Week of Events Dedicated to Ilia Chavchavadze’s 180th Birth Anniversary
The Faculty of Humanities will organize a series of events at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) dedicated to Ilia Chavchavadze’s 180th birth anniversary.
An international scientific symposium “Ilia Chavchavadze – 180” will be held on December 12-13. Georgian scientists from various universities and research centers, as well as foreign scientists from German, Turkish, Russian, Azerbaijani universities and research centers will participate in the symposium.
Opening: December 12, 11am, conference hall foyer
On December 12, at 4pm, an exhibition “My Pen – Ilia Chavchavadze’s Creative Works at the University Library” will be opened at the Maro Makashvili Hall of the TSU Library.
A student academic conference “Ilia Chavchavadze - 180” will be held on December 14-16. Over 60 students of various Georgian universities will participate. The conference aims to popularize Ilia Chavchavadze’s creative works among the youth.
On December 14, a student event “Reading Ilia” will be held, where students will read out prosaic, poetic works and op-eds by Ilia Chavchavadze.
An awards ceremony of the essay contest “Ilia and Georgia” will be held on December 14.
