13th International Pedagogy Conference

The 13th International Pedagogy Conference was held at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University on March 21-23. The conference was held with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science. TSU Rector, Academician Vladimer Papava and about 700 teachers from the post-Soviet countries attended the event.

TSU Rector Vladimer Papava said: “It is very important that the International Pedagogy Conference is being held at our university. A famous Georgian scientist, Shalva Amonashvili is the founder of humane pedagogy direction. A lot of specialists have arrived to participate in this high level international event.”

“TSU hosts the 13th International Conference of the International Center for Humane Pedagogy. The conference is being held on initiative of Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili. This is a very interesting forum dedicated to the direction, which was established in Georgia in the 60s of last century. Academician Shalva Amonashvili launched his first experiments at Tbilisi Experimental School No 1. This direction became so popular that it acquired tens of thousands of followers in the post-Soviet space, especially in Baltic states, Ukraine and Kazakhstan,” President of the International Center for Human Pedagogy, Paata Amonashvili said.

Meetings of International Movement of Humane Pedagogy are being held annually since 2002. Academician Shalva Amonashvili is the Honorary President of the International Center for Human Pedagogy. The conference was held in Georgia for the first time.
