Model International Criminal Court

The Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University hosted the Model International Criminal Court (MICC) on November 2-3 held under the aegis of non-governmental organization Yes Georgia.

The project represents a Georgian analogue of Polish MICC and it was implemented in Georgia for the first time. The teams from all authorized higher educational institutions participated in the selection process. About 40 teams and 96 individual applicants underwent registration. Six out of 21 selected teams reached the final stage.

All the four members of the winning team are the students of TSU Faculty of Law (Nana Aglemashvili, Emeliane Kiladze, Mariam Bregadze, Ina Grigalashvili). The winners will leave for Poland in March to participate in the Model International Criminal Court there.

Yes Georgia thanks the TSU Faculty of Law, as well as the judges Ketevan Khutsishvili, Tornike Tsagareishvili and Natalia Baratashvili for cooperation.

The project has been supported by Georgian Legislative Bulletin of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, which awarded the winners with the Georgian, English and Russian copies of the Georgian Constitution and Labor Code.

Yes Georgia plans to hold various events in international criminal law for the students interested in this sphere.
