Mukhran Machavariani’s 90th Anniversary

On May 17, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) marked the 90th anniversary of Georgian poet Mukhran Machavariani. A presentation of the book “90 Stories - Mukhran” was held at the anniversary evening. The event was organized by TSU Student Self-Government and Artanuji Publishing. The book contains reminiscences about Mukhran Machavariani by various authors.

Mukhran Machavariani’s daughter Nana Machavariani, TSU professors, lecturers and students attended the event.

“The book contains 90 reminiscences about the writer’s life - from birth to death. It is a very famous series of Artanuji Publishing, which gets young people and interested persons back into reading,” Nana Machavariani said.

Poet Mukhran Machavariani graduated from the TSU Faculty of Philology. His poems were first published by TSU literary almanac “Pirveli Skhivi.”
