Rector of University of Cologne Awarded Honorary Doctorate of TSU

For his active cooperation with Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) and contribution to its internationalization, the Academic Council of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University made a decision to confer the Honorary Doctorate Degree to the Rector of University of Cologne Prof. Dr. Axel Freimuth. (Decree N 150/2017)

Cooperation between Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and University of Cologne started in 2007 when the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Currently, the partnership is being implemented through bilateral exchange programs, within the framework of the EU-funded Erasmus+ program and various institutional projects and individual initiatives. The above-mentioned programs and projects are aimed at supporting the mobility of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students, the university academic and administrative staff, as well as promoting institutional and organizational development.
