Presentation of Principles of Company Law, Volume 2 at TSU
The Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University hosted the presentation of the second volume of Principles of Company Law. Dean of the TSU Faculty of Law, Professor Irakli Burduli is the author of the book. TSU Rector, Academician Vladimer Papava, students of the Faculty of Law and academic staff attended the event.
TSU Rector Vladimer Papava said: “The Faculty of Law is one of the most active faculties at the university. A lot of interesting and important events are being held in this direction and it points at high productivity of this faculty, particularly at the huge work done by the students and lecturers. The book written by the Dean of the Faculty, who is young but very experienced professor, is of huge importance. Students are now able to study law more comprehensively with the help of this book.”
Irakli Burduli, the author of the book, spoke with the audience about the history and necessity for writing the first and then second volumes of this book. “The first volume starts with the history of company law or the history of Joint Stock Company; it proved extremely important for me, because we, the Georgians, appeared to have had a rich tradition in this direction. I came across lots of regulations at the National Library, based on which quite large corporations were established. In the second volume I focused on the company law. This volume is called Principles of Company Law, but it discusses company law in the narrower sense rather than in the broader sense,” Burduli said. He also noted that the third volume would also be dedicated to the corporate law and company law tailored to Georgian reality.
