Qatar University President Visits TSU

The Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and the Qatar University will implement exchange educational programs and conduct joint scientific research. A relevant Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by TSU Rector, Academician Vladimer Papava and President of the Qatar University, Professor Sheikha Abdulla Al-Misnad in Tbilisi on April 8.

TSU Rector Vladimer Papava said that “the Memorandum signed with the Qatar University envisages the implementation of exchange programs and joint scientific research. The perspectives of cooperation in various scientific fields were revealed during the conversation with the guest. Expansion of international contacts, especially with the neighboring Arab countries, is extremely important for our university.” 

“I am glad that I visited the Tbilisi State University, because it is one of the largest universities in the region. We can cooperate in many directions – from research to education. Our universities can learn much from each other,” President of the Qatar University, Professor Sheikha Abdulla Al-Misnad said.

The President of Qatar University showed interest in teaching mathematics at the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences. She also spoke about promoting Arabic studies at TSU.

The visit was conducted on initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education of Georgia.
