TSU Gordela’s Debut Album Presentation

A female folklore group, TSU Gordela released its first album, which contains 12 songs recorded at Bravo Records sound recording studio.

Bravo Records worked on the repertoire of TSU Gordela’s debut CD album for several months. The musical concept of the album envisaged selection of 12 compositions from the group’s repertoire and giving them a new, modern interpretation. For this purpose, composer Liliko Nemsadze, together with TSU Gordela’s musical director, Tamaz Mamaladze, created absolutely new versions out of already existing compositions.

Tamaz Mamaladze said that “the album is the first serious work, which along with old and new songs performed by the group also contains new interpretations of old songs. By this album we tried to make folklore easily understandable to the public.”

“TSU Gordela always manages to create different and interesting interpretations out of Georgian folk songs. We are glad that Bravo Records is cooperating with TSU Gordela,” Director General of Bravo Records, Zaza Shengelia said adding that “this cooperation will further continue.”

TSU Gordela was established in 2007. The group is a laureate of various festivals and winner of numerous awards. TSU Gordela frequently tours both Georgian regions and foreign countries.
