Mission 2014 – Student Competition in Marketing and PR

Student competition in marketing and PR “Mission 2014” was launched at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. TSU Rector, Academician Vladimer Papava and Deputy Director General of Sante GMT Products LLC, Erekle Gamkrelidze attended the presentation of the competition.  

TSU Rector Vladimer Papava said: “This competition is an example of cooperation between TSU and private companies. The key goal of the competition is to provide the private sector with new student ideas in marketing and PR technologies. In its turn, the competition will help our students develop certain skills in this direction. Our partner company – Sante GMT Products will award GEL 5 000. I am sure that this year students will again show huge interest, the competition will be successful and our students’ ideas will be interesting for Sante.”

Student engagement in marketing and PR issues is very important for business sector. I hope that the competition will be fruitful for our company and for students as well. The process, which looks simple at a glance, may reveal quite interesting and necessary staff for business sector. I am sure that the end product of the competition will be qualitative,” Deputy Director General of Sante GMT Products LLC, Erekle Gamkrelidze said.

TSU student competition in marketing and PR – Mission – is the university’s annual project, which is jointly implemented by the university and a successful Georgian brand. Each year a new Georgian brand participates in the competition and the contestants create new ideas for a new partner. This year Sante GMT Products LLC is the partner company.

The goal of the competition is to promote the implementation and professional development of student ideas, to provide cooperation of winning students with partner companies and to increase future employment opportunities. The contestants are able to become the company’s virtual marketing and PR managers, to plan particular activities, to win in the competition, to obtain money awards and realize their ideas.

The competition is held in two stages: the participants of the first round fulfill the tasks offered by the university, while in the second round they become a partner brand’s virtual marketing and PR managers and work on the company’s communication strategy.

The prize money amounts to GEL 5000 and it will be awarded to three winners of the competition.

II place – GEL 1500   
III place – GEL 1000

This is already the fourth annual competition since its launch. During three years 150 teams from various faculties participated in the student competition. The companies IDS Borjomi Georgia, Geoplant and Natakhtari were the partners of the competition.
