Gordela Folk Group Holds Concert at Harvard University
Gordela, a Georgian folk ensemble formed at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, held a concert at Harvard University on April 11.
Gia Bagashvili, a well-known Georgian folklorist and Director General of Lomisi creative association, provided background on Georgian musical culture in his talk, “Georgia: The Cradle of Wine and Polyphony.”
Gordela performed traditional Georgian folk music using a variety of string, woodwind, and percussion instruments. The concert was held at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies.
