TSU, Mestia Municipality Sign Memorandum of Cooperation
Rector of the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), Academician Vladimer Papava and Head of Mestia Municipality, Kapiton Zhorzholiani signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between TSU and Mestia Municipality on May 8.
According to the memorandum, TSU and Mestia Municipality will cooperate in organizing joint conferences, symposiums, seminars and trainings; promote carrying out of research expeditions in Svaneti, publication of scientific papers, collections and monographs as well as development of scientific life in the region.
Professors, PhD and MA students from the Tbilisi State University have been delivering public lectures at two public schools of the Becho community in Mestia Municipality for already a year. Under the memorandum, similar public lectures will be delivered at public schools of other villages in Mestia Municipality. For the first time, final-year students from these schools will get involved in field expeditions conducted by TSU.
