Final Event of Smart-up Georgia and Awards Ceremony
A final event of the Estonian-Georgian project Smart-up Georgia and awards ceremony was held on May 19. By decision of the jury, the first place was taken by F.I.T; its business idea envisages production of fruit chips with the use of unique technologies.
RooRy took the second place; its business idea helps a consumer develop and purchase decorative wallpapers with a desirable design by means of a special website. AbracaDabra took the third place; the group will offer its users an online platform on part-time employment opportunities. The winning teams received cash prizes (1st place – GEL 5000; 2nd place – GEL 3000 and 3rd place – GEL 2000); moreover, on June 8-15 they will leave for Estonia for educational tours.
11 teams participate in the final round. A total of 133 business projects of Georgia’s 21 universities were submitted to the competition and only 20 of them moved to the next stage. The project Smart-up Georgia was initiated by Estonian company BDA Consulting OÜ and is being implemented with the support of the Estonian Foreign Ministry. The project aims to train students through training programs for the development of small business.
