President of Friedrich Schiller University Jena Awarded Honorary Doctorate of TSU

For his active cooperation with Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) and contribution to its internationalization, the Academic Council of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University made a decision to confer the Honorary Doctorate Degree to the President of Friedrich Schiller University Jena Prof. Dr Walter Rosenthal. (Decree N 147/2017)

Cooperation between Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Friedrich Schiller University Jena started in 1963 when the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Currently, the partnership is being implemented through bilateral exchange programs, within the framework of the EU-funded Erasmus+ program and various institutional projects and individual initiatives. The above-mentioned programs and projects are aimed at supporting the mobility of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students, the university academic and administrative staff, as well as promoting institutional and organizational development.
