3rd International Staff Week at TSU

The 3rd International Staff Week has been opened at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) to deepen collaboration with leading European universities. 23 representatives of 13 leading universities from Germany, France, Portugal and Spain are participating.

Rector George Sharvashidze briefed the participants on TSU, noting that the University maintains the leading position by number of students interested in exchange programs. “The International Staff Week confirms that the interest towards the EU-funded exchange programs is high. TSU is the leader by number of students participating in Erasmus+ exchange programs and I hope that their number will increase in the future,” Rector Sharvashidze said.

Tea Gergedava, head of the TSU Department of Foreign Relations, noted that TSU is hosting the representatives of those European universities with whom it has exchange programs. “The purpose of the International Staff Week is to better acquaint our partners with our possibilities, also to get acquainted with their possibilities, to discuss the perspectives of expanding already existing collaboration or new directions of collaboration,” Gergedava noted.

Since 2015, TSU has been implementing 182 Erasmus+ projects with 85 universities of 26 European countries. Over the past three years, 1146 TSU students and administrative staff members participated in fully funded mobility programs.

Coordinator of National Erasmus+ Office (NEO) Georgia, Lika Glonti and Head of International Education Center, Nino Chelidze briefed the representatives of partner universities on the activities of their respective organizations.

TSU hosts the 3rd International Staff Week for the third consecutive year.
