1+4 Educational Program

Georgian State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Ketevan Tsikhelashvili delivered a public lecture on a topic “Civic Equality and Integration” for the students of Georgian Language Preparation Educational Program at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.

The State Minister spoke about the internship program designed for the beneficiaries of “1+4 educational program,” where registration started on October 8 and will last for two weeks. Students of the TSU “1+4 program” will undergo internship at various public agencies with 500 vacancies allocated for this purpose.

The internship program developed by the Office of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality in partnership with the UN Association of Georgia is designed for the beneficiaries of the Georgian Language Preparation Educational Program (1+4 program) and it is successfully being implemented for the third year. Internships are announced twice a year – autumn and spring.

Within the framework of the program, representatives of ethnic minorities have an opportunity to join the internship process through a competition. A specially created commission selects interns under relevant assessment criteria. Successful applicants will undergo internships from one to six months at public agencies, local self-government bodies and legal entities of public law. The program is designed for the third-year and fourth-year students, as well as MA students and alumni.

The purpose of the internship program is to open up employment opportunities to ethnic minorities living in Georgia and to promote their civil integration.
