Presentation of the Book by Reuven Enoch
The Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University hosted a presentation of the book The Passover Haggadah in Judeo-Georgian by Professor of the Ariel University, Reuven Enoch (Ruben Enukashvili).
“The book is about a traditional text of the Passover legend translated by Georgian Jews. For centuries, this text was transferred from one generation to another, but it had never been published. Finally, I managed to write it down and publish. This is my third book from this series. The first and second books were also dedicated to the translations of biblical books. The book has been published by the Israeli scientific publisher. Georgian translations are especially interesting for the research of Georgian language history and dialectology, as the speech of Georgian Jews is an integral part of this sphere and it is equally interesting for both the Georgians and the Jews,” Professor Reuven Enoch said.
The event was organized by the Hebrew-Aramaic Department of the TSU Faculty of Humanities.
