TSU, Ministry of Corrections Sign Memorandum

The TSU Faculty of Law and the Ministry of Corrections of Georgia signed a memorandum on legal clinic at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University on February 27. The memorandum will enable MA students to acquire and develop practical skills in various structures of the Ministry of Corrections of Georgia.

Dean of the TSU Faculty of Law, Irakli Burduli said: “According to the memorandum, a legal clinic will be provided at the Ministry. It will enable our students to acquire those practical skills, which they need to work in this sphere. The memorandum is extremely important in terms of student employment and it is very important for the Ministry too. Such relationship promotes the Ministry’s transparency and those questions that may exist in the society will not remain unanswered.”

“The memorandum signed with the TSU Faculty of Law will promote students’ involvement in the activities of various structures of the penitentiary system. They will have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the ministry’s activities, to acquire more knowledge and experience. This, in turn, will largely contribute to future professionalism of TSU students,” Deputy Minister of Corrections, Grigol Giorgadze said.
