"Platos Philosophy in Interdisciplinary Context"

On May 28-30, 2018 Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University hosts International Conference "Platos Philosophy in Interdisciplinary Context" funded by Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia and is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the first Georgian University. A specialized international conference dedicated to Platos philosophy is held for the first time in Georgia.

The organizer of the conference is TSU Institute of Classical, Byzantine and Modern Greek Studues. Co-organizers of the conference are Akaki Tsereteli State University and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.

More than 60 scholars take part in the conference from 4 continents, more than 20 countries (e.g. France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, Hungary, Russia, Turkey, India, Hong Kong, Japan, Georgia, Armenia, Germany, Switzerland, Azerbaijan). Students section will also work within the conference. Representatives of International Plato Society, its former and up-coming Presidents are also participating.

The following events will be held during the conference:
  • Personal Exhibition of prominent Georgian painter Gia Bugadze: Philosophy and Painting: "Bibliodrama Anamorphosis";
  • Photo Exhibition "Platos Dialogues on Stage";
  • Video show "Plato’s dialogues on stage";
  • Book Exhibition: "Plato in Georgian".
In the end of the Conference Caucasus Plato Society will be established at TSU Institute of Classical, Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies, which will unit Georgian, Armenian and Azerbaijani Platonists.
