Migration processes represent one of the main challenges of the 20th and the 21st centuries. Migration, as an individual and collective act, is tied to a number of significant issues. Transfer of borders and identity should be highlighted among them. Intensification of migration, globalization and inter-cultural processes, widening of European political sphere, leaving the frontiers of the classic sample of State “National State” (Nationalstaat) and recent territorial conflicts on Post Soviet area placed more emphasis on national identity and cultural issues. Besides state and political borders, cultural and symbolic ones are equally important. The necessity to discuss national identity becomes significant from theoretical as well as practical standpoints. The aim of the conference is to single out the mechanisms for the transfer of national identity such as translation, Diaspora writings, cultural adaptation, etc.
