Head of the Pathology Department of the TSU Faculty of Medicine; MD; Professor of Medicine; Member of the Intercontinental Medical-Social Science Academy. He is an international expert in pathology and Board member of the Association of Pathologists of Georgia; Member of the Degree Awarding Council of the Faculty of Medicine; he has been working at TSU since 1998. Research interests: morphological principles of intracranial tumours; biological “behaviours”; acute hypoxia’s impact on the structural organization of endocrine organs; the correlation of radiological and patho-morphological studies; experimental modelling of manganese-powered toxic encephalopathy and hysto-patho-morphological study of organs. He is the author of 148 scientific works, two textbooks, and supervisor of three doctoral and six candidate dissertations; has been official opponent of 18 doctoral and 21 candidate dissertations and participated in 11 international scientific forums. He has been awarded the Friendship of Peoples prize, and the Order of Honour.
