TSU, MIA Academy Sign Memorandum of Cooperation
Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) and Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The Memorandum was signed by TSU Rector Giorgi Sharvashidze and Rector of the MIA Academy Givi Mikanadze.
Rector of TSU, Giorgi Sharvashidze said that the Memorandum involved a number of aspects, among them student internships. “We are very glad that this cooperation has been established. We suppose that we will support each other in many issues, among them sending our students to the MIA Academy, using a crime laboratory, making student life more active and holding joint events. We have broad opportunities for cooperation and we are glad that we managed and specified the directions of our future cooperation,” Rector Sharvashidze said.
“Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Tbilisi State University signed the Memorandum; so we gave a legal form to already existing relations between the two educational institutions. This Memorandum enables us to plan more activities. In its turn, the Academy is ready to provide its resources, material base to TSU students, as well as help them undergo internships and practical studies. Cooperation at an academic level is also planned. The MIA Academy is glad to acquire a strong partner like TSU,” Rector of the MIA Academy, Givi Mikanadze said.
According to the Memorandum, the parties agree to implement joint educational projects, share intellectual and technical resources, arrange joint working meetings, workshops, conferences; promote the involvement of professors, instructors and trainers in educational programs and projects, as well as the cooperation between the parties in frames of practical educational program (legal clinic).
