Statement of the Academic Council of the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University

In response to the ongoing developments in Ukraine, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State would like to convey grave concern regarding the violence targeted towards the free and heroic spirited Ukrainian people. The university community grieves for those deceased as a consequence of the aggression committed against the peaceful civilians and expresses deep condolence to the Ukrainian people.

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University condemns the breach of Ukraine’s sovereignty and any form of aggression exercised by the Russian Federation during recent events. The first Georgian university reaffirms its solidarity to the Ukrainian people in their aspiration to become full members of the European family, sharing the principles of liberty, rule of law and human rights, and is ready to support the Ukrainian civil society at the professional and intellectual level.
