High Technology Surgical Training Center to Open at TSU

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) and Medical Innovations Academy signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on February 20.

Under the Memorandum, high technology surgical training center will be opened at TSU that will enable the representatives of medical sphere from Georgia and Europe, including surgeons, researchers and students to gain experience and deepen their knowledge in experimental surgery.

Rector of TSU, Giorgi Sharvashidze said that in partnership with Italian colleagues, representatives of medical sphere will be trained at the Tbilisi State University. “Today, we have signed the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Medical Innovations Academy; this type of cooperation with Italian partners is a new and good opportunity for the university,” Rector Sharvashidze noted.

“The Memorandum between the Medical Innovations Academy and the Tbilisi State University envisages creation of an important training center for experimental surgery and long-term cooperation. I hope that the center will pave the way for very important research, scientific proposals envisaged by experimental surgery,” Professor Tamar Rukhadze of the TSU Faculty of Medicine said.

Under the Memorandum, TSU and Medical Innovations Academy will implement joint educational programs; all necessary technical equipment and trainings will be provided by the Italian side.
