Israeli Ambassador Visits TSU

The development of educational ties between TSU and Israel, joint scientific projects and issues of future collaboration were discussed at the meeting between Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, George Sharvashidze and Ambassador of Israel to Georgia, Ran Gidor on June 26. 
Rector George Sharvashidze said that TSU has a long and fruitful collaboration with the state of Israel and now this collaboration moves to a new level. “During the meeting with the Israeli Ambassador, we discussed the perspectives of our future collaboration in view of the situation amid the coronavirus pandemic. We discussed the opportunities of holding joint academic conferences and a lot of other interesting and diverse issues on the agenda,” Rector Sharvashidze said. 
Israeli Ambassador Ran Gidor expressed hope that future cooperation between TSU and Israel would be fruitful and that it would continue in the future. 
The Department of Hebrew and Aramaic Studies has been operating at TSU since 1944. The Center of Israel, also operating at TSU, is actively engaged in carrying out Georgian-Jewish research activities.   
TSU has a long and fruitful collaboration with the state of Israel and this collaboration now moves to a new level.
