Two Buildings of TSU Completely Illuminated
Facades of historical Building 1 and Building 2 of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) have been completely illuminated. The external lighting system was installed recently, with the financial support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Sport and Culture of Georgia. Rector of TSU, George Sharvashidze and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze inspected the territory adjacent to the TSU buildings and spoke about the Building 2 rehabilitation project.
After completing the renovation of Building 2 and rehabilitation of Chavchavadze Avenue, it is important to install lighting and renovate green zones in the university yards. The works on planting greenery will be carried out jointly with the Tbilisi City Hall. “Building 1 and Building 2 are cultural heritage monuments and their lighting is important along with renovation of Chavchavadze Avenue. The second stage of rehabilitation of Building 2 is underway. The large-scale works will end next year. The Tbilisi City Hall will help us renovate TSU garden and clean up Building 1,” Rector Sharvashidze said.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze noted that the works on installing lighting systems on two buildings of TSU were carried out by the university itself. “Let me thank Tbilisi State University for cooperation and implementation of a very good and beautiful project. After all works on Chavchavadze Avenue are completed, we will see that it will be one of the best projects. We should have the streets of such quality in the capital,” Kaladze said, adding that Tbilisi City Hall has implemented a lot of pilot projects on the Avenue and the society will see upon completion of all works how beautiful this project is.
