TSU Extends Deep Condolences on Passing of Professor Emeritus, Academician Mariam Lortkipanidze
Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University extends its deep condolences on the passing of TSU Professor Emeritus, Academician Mariam Lortkipanidze.
Mariam Lortkipanidze is a representative of the school of Georgian historians founded by Ivane Javakhishvili. She has left an indelible trace in Georgian science and brought up generations. Professor Lortkipanidze is the author of over 200 works, which remain most valuable for Georgian history and science. During her entire life, Mariam Lortkipanidze had been actively involved in public life. She played a very important role in restoration of Georgia’s independence.
Prominent Georgian scientist and teacher, famous public figure, Dr. Hab., Academician Mariam Lortkipanidze turned 95 last year.
Regretfully, TSU will mark its 100th anniversary without Mariam Lortkipanidze, but she will always remain a part of the university’s history, its development and progress.
