Polish Delegation Visits TSU

Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, George Sharvashidze hosted the representatives of the Pomeranian University in Słupsk on January 15. Rector of the Pomeranian University in Słupsk, Zbigniew Osadowski, Vice-Rector for Science, Prof. Aleksander Astel, Prof. Dariusz Szpoper, Departmnent of Administration and Sociology, as well as Deputy Dean of the TSU Faculty of Law, Irakli Burduli attended the meeting. The participants discussed the issues of deepening cooperation and implementing joint projects between TSU and Polish higher educational institutions.

In 2011, TSU and the University of Gdańsk established scientific collaboration, upon initiative of the Dean of the TSU Faculty of Law. Seven Georgian-Polish academic colloquiums were held in Georgia and Poland in frames of collaboration. In 2015, Prof. Dariusz Szpoper was awarded Honorary Doctorate of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The first issue of a bilingual scientific journal “Polish-Georgian Law Review”, involving the articles prepared by Georgian, Polish and other European scientists in the field of History of Law, was released in 2016. Since 2018, the journal also involves the articles covering other fields of law that has made it more interesting. The journal is released in Poland.
