TSU Maintains Leadership among Georgian Research Centers

The Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) is still maintaining leadership among the research centers of Georgia. According to the results of the call “State Science Grants for Fundamental Research 2014” announced by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, the Tbilisi State University is a leader.

Out of 106 winning projects, 33 have been submitted by TSU, while in two applications TSU acts as a co-participant. TSU scholars are cooperating with their counterparts from the Ilia Vekua Sukhumi Institute of Physics and Technology, David Agmashenebeli University of Georgia, Free University of Georgia and Fund for Kartvelian Studies. 

A total of 556 applications were registered with 150 from TSU after the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation announced State Science Grants Competition for Fundamental Research 2014.

The primary objective of State Science Grants Competition for Fundamental Research is to promote further development of fundamental research, to select through an open grant competition and finance fundamental research projects.     

According to the competition conditions, project duration should not exceed three years, while the amount requested from the fund should not exceed GEL 50 000 annually.
